Friday March 14th saw the first “training” session for Bathgate Thistle Over 35’s summer league team. The gale force winds were barely audible due to the creaking of bones at Armadale Academy’s 3G pitch as the 35’s rolled back the years entertaining the crowd, Bishop and Wee Declan O’Hara, with an array of unintentional nutmegs, shin-shots and incomplete passing.

The search continues for a sniper who cruelly grounded Mark “Muks” Whelan, scuffing the toe area of his new white Hummels. There is a bear hunter out there!!!

Now 3 sessions in and with the turn out increasing, the 35’s are finding their form and looking forward to the start of the league in May. They have their first friendly on Good Friday against Broxburn 35’s at Broxburn’s Albyn Park. More importantly the first night out is planned afterwards.

Training continues on Friday 4th April at 7pm and will then follow every Tuesday at 7:45pm at Armadale Academy. Please check our Facebook page for all the latest news and if you fancy playing.
