Bathgate Thistle are delighted to confirm the signing of a further 6 new signings to Bobby Main’s playing squad for season 2013/14.
Defenders Jamie McCabe joins from local amateur side Whitburn Bluebell. The young right back is making his debut in the Juniors but the coaching staff reckon he has bags of potential and with his attacking style is capable of making a big impact at this level.

Midfield trio Kevin Byle, Andy Malone and Michael Laing join from Livingston United, Stoneyburn Juniors and West Calder respectively. Kevin is a solid central midfielder with bags of experience and Andy Malone’s simple yet effective style of play can always be relied upon. Mikey caught the eye of the staff during his efforts on the right wing for West Calder against Pumpherston in the South Division last term.
- New Signings
Last but not least, we have secured the signatures of two terrific goalkeepers in Mark Reid and Michael Tugman. Mark has been the regular custodian for the manager at both Tower AFC and Pumpherston over the years and is well known locally as a top keeper. He has further Junior experience as well, having served time in the Senior game with SPFL League One side Stranraer FC. Tuggy, too, has senior experience having started off at Gretna before making his first team debut at Alloa. More recently he played in the Junior grade with Blackburn United and has also featured for our club’s amateur sides.
Welcoming the new players to the club, Peter McIntyre said, “These latest signings all add further quality to the squad, which we think now has real depth and a nice mixture of youth and experience. We have good options and cover for various positions and we’re looking forward to the challenge of finding match-winning teams.”
Please join us in welcoming all of the new players to Creamery Park and wishing each of them the very best in their careers at Creamery Park. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank Peter, as ever, for taking the time to give us some information on the new signings to share on the website.
