Preview by Robert Allen
There is no league action scheduled for Bathgate this weekend. Instead, we welcome Stoneyburn Juniors to Creamery park for a friendly match.
Bathgate continued their strong run of form in recent weeks with a hard fought but richly deserved 1-0 win over Dalkeith Thistle this past weekend. Robbie Feeney won it for The Jags with a fine first time strike 10 minutes from time. The in-form striker now has 5 goals in his last 4 outings and is finishing the season really strongly. Perhaps even more pleasing for Jags gaffer Andrew Colley was the clean-sheet and the overall performance of the Bathgate defence.
Stoneyburn boss Allan Brown brings his side to visit on the back of a 3-1 defeat at Pumpherston this midweek. It has been a tough campaign for The Fulshie this year. However, even with the tight resources at Beechwood Park, their committee is determined and enthusiastic and their gaffer Brown urges his players to try and play football and their team is stronger for that.
Both sides last met in a friendly just before Christmas and it was a real cracker. It ended up an eight goal thriller with Bathgate winning 5-3. Both managers will no doubt use the game to give some players a run out who haven’t featured much in recent weeks.
We would love to have your support for both sides as we approach the seasons end. Kick off is at 2.30pm
