Jayden, a younger brother of one of our 2005 players is suffering from a rare form of cancer. As a community focused club the Community Club have decided to aid Jayden’s family in any way we can.
This begins on Sunday the 13th July with a charity boot camp at the Meadow Park in Bathgate. The camp will be run by Dream Fitness West Lothian who have kindly agreed to donate all proceeds to the fund. The boot camp kicks off at 11am and will cost each attendee a £5 fee.
With pre-season underway this is an ideal opportunity for players and family of all clubs to boost their fitness ahead of the big kick off as well as to help a great cause.
Jayden’s story can be found here at this page and from here donations can be made right away so even if your are unable to attend on Sunday you can still help out. A facebook page has also been setup which will track all the initiativies and fund raising activities which are being held across various towns, clubs and teams around West Lothian.
Please share this amongst friends and on Facebook. There is a button like button at the bottom of this article.
Jayden’s Story
Jayden is 6 years old and in early May of this year he was diagnosed with a rare type of cancerous brain tumour called an Ependymoma which affects the central nervous system.
This brave wee man has already undergone a gruelling 10 hour op to remove the tumour and several bouts of exhausting physio.
Initially the family were advised Jayden would require 6 weeks radiotherapy in the UK however it has since emerged Jayden ha a grade 3 tumour (the most aggressive form) and requires a specialised proton therapy treatment only available at present in America.
The treatment will mean a 3 month stay for Jayden & Mum Angela in America.
This fund has started to assist in the mounting financial burdens associated with Jayden’s treatment and other living expenses so the family can focus only on Jayden.
