FIGHTING JAGS BRAVE IN DEFEAT
MILTON 98’s FC 7 (2) v (0) 1 BATHGATE THISTLE CFC
24/11/2013 @ 3G Bannockburn High School. Cold, Dry and calm.

In the cold light of day it sounds like another heavy defeat for the Jags but statistics don’t always fully tell a true story. The Jags more than held their own against arguably the best team in the league and certainly matched them for skill and endeavour but were undone by some clinical finishing and all around good play.

With changes in coaching and playing staff the Jags were soon under the cosh from a fast moving Milton side but weathered the initial storm and played themselves into the game.

Milton pressure eventually forced a breakthrough midway through the half and they soon doubled their lead before halftime but the Jags were never out of it and could easily have reduced the leeway.

The Jags continued to take the game to Milton and with Potter sustaining another injury their defence began to look more and more fragile and so it proved as Milton extended their lead gradually until they conceded their first league goal in open play due to the usual persistence of Dalton who carved out an opening for Dwyer to deservedly claim an excellent goal which he more than merited.

Therefore despite the actual score line the Jags provided a good display which can hopefully be maintained in the coming weeks.
MoM: Potter was his usual assured self until his injury but this week it’s Dwyer who yet again roamed all over the forward area and scored an excellent goal.
