Pumpherston Juniors 0-10 Bathgate Thistle
McBookie SJFA East Premier League
Saturday 24 August, 2013
Servoca Recreation Park, Pumpherston
What was anticipated to be a very competitive fixture between two much changed sides turned out to be a very one sided affair last Saturday at Servoca Recreation Park. Former Pumphy player David Swan opened the scoring for his new side early on before Gary White doubled the advantage on 15 mins. Sam Watson added a third before half time but it was not all good news for the Jags, with White having to be substituted after being knocked unconscious after suffering a heavy blow.
In the second half a rampant Bathgate side ran riot with Kallum Macauley and Andy Malone making it four and five respectively before Swan scored a further two to complete his hat-trick on his return to his old stomping ground.
Not to be out-done, substitute Alex Lurinksy scored his own second half hat-trick to cap a memorable afternoon for the visiting support, with the final score 0-10.
Assistant Manager Peter McIntyre said, “Our team is really taking shape now and scoring goals galore with a positive goal difference of eighteen from our opening four matches. We’re all delighted with the performance but we’re not getting carried away as the lads all know there are much tougher tests ahead, starting with Dalkeith at the Creamery next week.”
