The Jags aim to kick-start the season against Glenrothes Juniors after tough opener last weekend.
After a disappointing start to the league campaign Bathgate have the opportunity to get back to winning ways against our newly promoted opponents from Glenrothes this weekend. Bathgate are still missing through injury our captain, Stoogs McLeod, who is still a couple of weeks away yet from returning to the line-up. We are also without Hassan Nyang who remains suspended. Having lost our midweek fixture after the sad demise of Falkirk Juniors Hassan will also miss the away fixture against Whitburn next midweek. Reece Boyle is unavailable for this match. Jags midfielder Iain Griffin is available to play against his former side having turned out for our opponents in last season’s promotion winning campaign.
Glenrothes arrive having lost their first two league fixtures of the new season. They went down 6-3 to Kennoway Star Hearts in their opener. This was despite a blistering start where they went two nil up in the first half. They followed that up with a 3-1 defeat to Sauchie in midweek – a match watched by our gaffer Andrew Colley who was impressed with the football on show despite the losing scoreline.
So both sides will be going all out to get their first 3 points on the board. It is still early days in the McBookie.com East Premier League but results already have shown that this will be a tough and very competitive league this year. That makes your support all the more important. With the backing of our fans the club believes that this really can be a memorable season for all at Bathgate. Kick off is on Saturday at 2.30pm and a bumper crowd would be great for our guys. Entry is £6/£3
