Grange win the toss and change ends, Bathgate will be attacking the school end. It’s a competitive start and Grange are closing down Bathgate at every opportunity. Niggling fouls mean the game is being broken up frequently with the referee’s whistle.

Baillie breaks the deadlock, the keeper is wrong-footed and the ball squirms past him. Baillie is on hand to tap it in on the goal line to make it 1-0. Everyone on the side-line is expecting the blues to push on but Grange haven’t read the script; they score within 30 seconds of the restart. The Grange striker muscles in to get a foot to the ball on the edge of the box and deftly knocks the ball over the Jake to make it 1-1

Aidan is involved again on 28 minutes. He lifts the ball across the 6 yard box and Scott is first to it, to volley home to make it 3-1. Bathgate are on a roll now and Robbie is wiped out with a bad challenge in the penalty area. Leon steps up to take the penalty, the keeper guess the right way but it’s well struck and accurate; 4-1. There’s no more goals before half time 4-1

The Blues hit the ground running and score within 1 minutes of the restart, Baillie and Leon combine and find Connor with a good pass and Connor puts it away. 5-1. Lewis gets in on the act on 40 minutes, the ball breaks free to him on the edge of the box and he steers in through the crowd and into the net. Bathgate are 6-1 up with 6 different goal scorers. The Grange goal is coming under constant attack, Bathgate have scored 6 so far but have also hit the woodwork on 4 occasions

The boys have now changed their style of play and are playing short, quick passes to good effect. Bathgate are getting in behind the Grange defence and are creating lots of chances.

Sam shows nice skill to send Harry into the box; Harry’s accurate cross finds Baillie on the 6 yard box who scores his second of the day to make it 7-1. Sam’s having a big impact after coming on, he crosses from the right to find Harry who side foots it home for Bathgate’s 8th goal of the day.

Harry gets his second of the day, Baillie finds him in the area and Harry megs the keeper from a tight angle 9-1. Connor gets his second of the day on the 55 minute mark with an exquisite chip over the keeper from close range for the goal of the day.

On 65 minutes Sam takes a quick throw in, he combines well to exchange passes with Harry. He picks up the ball, makes his way into the box and finishes well after beating two defenders. Great goal 11-1

That’s a really convincing win from Bathgate today, and it’s been particularly pleasing to some great passes and movement as well as eight different scorers
