In a tremendous advert for youth football in West Lothian,Bathgate Thistle CFC and Craigshill met in the Presidents cup final.  In a pulsating match Bathgate came through 3-2 to win the match.

Bathgate raced into an early lead with Ross Williams reacting sharply to head home following a great save from the Craigshill keeper.

Bathgate doubled their advantage with a bullet header by full back Jamie King straight from a corner by Ross Williams.
Bathgate were dominant at this point and managed to go 3-0 up.  After some strong midfield play from Mindy Kadisa and a clever pass wide, Rhys McGrath played an inviting low ball into the box.  Lethal from inside the 6 yard box, Christian Rogers pounced to slam the ball home.

Job done?  Not according to Craigshill; the half time break giving them renewed energy and desire.  The pressure was on and it wasn’t long before they were awarded a penalty. Fortunately for Bathgate, Craigshill were unable to convert.  However they continued their pressure and managed to quickly pull a goal back.

The match was settling down when, with around 10 minutes remaining Craigshill scored a magnificent half volley from around 30 yards!!

The pressure was now on and Bathgate defended for their lives with numerous key challenges from captain Sam Craig and one particularly crunching tackle from Ross MacDonald helping them to hold on and claim victory.
