JAGS BACK ON TRACK
County Cup 1st Round, Stewartfield Park, Broxburn.
After last week’s derailment the Jags regained some of their early season composure with a welcome if unspectacular win against a stuffy Broxburn. The defence resorted to their normal shape but the side in general was still hampered by various injuries.
After a frantic opening period which no side dominated the Jags took the lead when Bell linked up with the overlapping Young whose athleticism saw him run onto an inch perfect pass from Bell to give the Jags a deserved half-time lead.
An unfortunate injury to the Broxburn keeper was exploited by the Jags who extended their lead through two McGuire headers to give them a comfortable win and set up a mouth-watering tie against Shotts.
A welcome return to form and another confidence builder in the learning process.
M.o.M. A number of fine performances throughout the team but the human dynamo Bell just edges it.
